This model is a sword inspired by the location: Ardenweald in World of Warcraft, the model was originally from a university assignment, but recently I decided to repaint it and change the hilt from this:

I really wanted to see how far I have come and what I still have to work on, and this was an excellent way to do so.

The original process of designing this sword (and some of the other ones you see in my portfolio) was to focus on silhouettes like so:

Using silhouettes let me focus on the whole design instead of getting stuck on the details.

After this I modelled the prop in Maya and hand painted it in Substance painter.
