This is my first attempt at a bigger environment in Unreal Engine, all the models have been made in Maya and textured in Substance Painter.
The leaves and the vfx were created with the usage and adaptation of different tutorials I have been following over the years to learn more and more about Unreal.
Here’s the video to better see the visual effects: I created a wind effect with leaves, some small embers in the forest and the little flames. The plants also pulsate thanks to an animated material.
The little flames were also manually animated to give them a little more life. Overall this was a great learning experience, thinking of composition and putting all my knowledge together in one project really helped me solidify it all.

Here are some of the main models:
The sword was especially fun to make, most of the details were sculpted in Zbrush, I then applied Nhance’s Simple Diffuse material (Which can be found here) as a base, posterized and stylized it. This allowed me to obtain the perfect base to then move on to hand painting it for an even more detailed result. While I usually manually hand paint most of my work trying out new ways to further enrich my work with the usage of filters has proven quite fruitful.
